Radiology Department is one of the focal points of Lusaka Trust Hospital.
LTH Radiographer and Radiologist use a variety of imaging techniques such as Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, Computerized Axial tomography (CAT) and Echocardiogram and Dopplers Scans.
We offer:
Digital X-Ray
X-rays – used to look through tissue to examine bones, cavities and foreign objects. May be used with contrast agents to provide a live motion image, eg fluoroscopy to image the digestive system, or angiography to investigate blood vessels

- Image printed on CD-R in DICOM mode
- Barium studies: Ba swallow, Meal, follow through and enema
- Renal studies: IVU, Cystourethrogram, and urethrogram

TreadMill ECG
- Treadmill Trade master with cardiology suit
- Treadmill stress ECG for both Routine and Avation medicals

Ultrasound Scans
Ultrasound – uses high frequency sound. This technique is widely used in obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatrics and for patients with abdominal, vascular or musculoskeletal conditions

CT Scan (Computerised Axial Tomography)
CT (computed tomography) – provides cross-sectional views (slices) of the body allowing disease to be identified and localised

- Extremities etc with or without contrast
- High Resolution CT (HRCT)
- Report within 24 hours
